What, you don't think that washing dishes with your feet is effective?
After the excitement of family visiting there is always a period of "getting back to normal" that occurs. It usually takes a few days of staying in at night to get back to some type of normal, but since Auntie RyRy left on Thursday we actually have only had one night of actually "normal".
Sebastian is a cheeky little monkey too - he is really starting to comprehend what buttons are worth pushing when it comes to getting what he wants. And he has been a real trooper this past week; what with all that has been going on. So lots has happened – and lots of buttons have been pushed!
Seba's school was closed last week on Thursday & Friday so I took the days off to spend some quality time with him. We went to the Aquarium on Thursday morning on our way to drop Auntie RyRy off at the airport and had a great time. Each time I go there I am more and more impressed with the Northrock reef exhibit. This time when we went we of course saw the HUGE barracuda that is normally hovering inches from your face; but we also saw a new fish - the BIGGEST grouper I have ever seen. It was bigger than Sebastian for sure. Also saw a new small shark, a lobster, a school of yellow fin tuna (or so I think) and the moray eel poking out of the rocks. Pretty impressive! After all that excitement we bid Auntie RyRy goodbye, and went back to the house for a nap.
In the afternoon Seba went across the road to visit Grandma so that daddy could get some chores done - still finishing off the little things here and there to the house.
In the evening we all went to the Rugby and had a great time in the members tent thanks to Adam & Debbie.
Friday Sebastian and I went into town to run some errands before meeting Megan at the RBYC for lunch which turned out real nice. In the afternoon we together did some more chores which included washing the car. Sebastian was of course in charge of the hose - and ended up having a great time soaking the car, the driveway, his Police car, himself, myself, and everything else he could. Then it was off to Adam & Debbie's for a Quiz night. It was really cool with lots of new faces and some great quiz activitey. We left Seba with a babysitter so as not to upset the “mood”. But that just means that one of us can’t imbibe too heavily, since one of us has to drive the babysitter home after all is said and done. Needless to say – that was me.
Saturday we all woke up slowly and Seba and I headed to Tumbletots, and then met Adam/Debbie/Carola at Bistro 12 for a second breakfast – Seba devoured a plate of eggs and toast – and then promptly took a 1.5hr nap when we got home. When he woke up it was just in time to go to Kindermusic. We followed that up with a walk through the garden at home trying to pick out trees we may want to plant around the house. Then Sebastian went onto the porch to watch the bobcat push dirt around the yard as the landscapers continue leveling and finishing off of the yard. Then we planted some rose bushes out front – and Sebastian spent a few hours becoming the dirtiest kid ever.
Saturday night we went to the Rugby for the finals. We were a bit tardy in our arrival, and had to park on the side of the road – for which we got a $50 ticket for. But we had a great time at the rugby – and Seba got more flags and swag than you can shake a stick at.
Sunday was a day spent hanging pictures in the house, and keeping Sebastian occupied. Washing dishes in the kitchen sink is now one of Sebastian’s most favorite things to do, and at one point he was sitting in the sink – fully clothed. Needless to say he needed a new diaper after that.
Monday we all went into town early for coffee and breakfast, and then hit the paint store to purchase “colored” paints for the powder room and office. Sebastian successfully gave us a hear attack as he wedged his head through the bars of a trolley and then couldn’t get it out. We were just short of calling for the blow torch when he was able to wiggle free. In the afternoon Seba and Megan went to the Aquarium with Elizabeth & Joshua while daddy stayed home and painted the powder room. Then we had Grandma over for a quite family Sunday night dinner - the closest to a normal night in as we have had over the past week or so.
